'Nigerian methods of diabetes treatment are shocking.' A world-famous Israeli endocrinologist gave an exclusive interview!
This interview was conducted by a member of our editorial team with expertise in medical journalism.
Last year, Prof. Shmul Klein came to Nigeria to study the practices of his Nigerian colleagues. According to him, what he witnessed in Nigeria is almost impossible to explain. Professor Klein says that in Nigeria diabetes is still treated using outdated and ineffective methods.
After making bold statements, Prof. Shmul Klein agreed to give us an exclusive interview. What did the world-famous endocrinologist find unacceptable about the treatment of diabetes in Nigeria? And why does he claim that Nigerians suffering from diabetes have no chance of achieving even remission?
Full transcript of Prof. Shmul Klein's interview:
● You said that the Nigerian methods of diabetes treatment are shocking. Could you comment on that?
● What medications are used in Israel to treat diabetes?
● Are such medications not sold in Nigerian pharmacies?
● What would you recommend to Nigerians suffering from diabetes?
— You said that the Nigerian methods of diabetes treatment are shocking. Could you comment on that?
Professor Shmul Klein (MD, PhD) serves as Head of the Department of Endocrinology at Israel’s renowned Assuta Medical Center.
First, let me make one thing very clear: I have the utmost respect for Nigeria, its culture, and its people. But the state of medicine in Nigeria, especially in endocrinology, is deeply shocking. The approaches being used here are at least 10, and perhaps even 20, years behind modern standards — particularly when it comes to treating diabetes.
Consider this: doctors in Nigeria still recommend diets, daily exercise, pills, or insulin injections as the main treatment for diabetes. Yet these methods have long proven insufficient. They do not address the root of the disease; they only suppress blood sugar temporarily.
Meanwhile, in Israel, these outdated methods have been abandoned for over a decade. Our focus there is on the underlying metabolic dysfunction, not just the symptom of high blood sugar.
The reality is chilling: it is far more profitable to sell expensive sugar-lowering drugs or insulin than to actually cure diabetes. Even 'healthy' diets come with a high cost, making them inaccessible for many. Older patients, for whom strict regimens or intense exercise may be impossible, are particularly at risk.
By relying on these outdated treatments, doctors and pharmacists in Nigeria are not just failing patients — they are actively endangering lives. Left untreated or treated incorrectly, diabetes slowly destroys the heart, kidneys, nerves, and eyes, often leading to premature death. This isn’t just medical negligence — it is, in effect, a silent, shocking epidemic of suffering.
— Since in Nigeria diabetes is still treated using outdated and ineffective methods, how is diabetes treated in Israel?
Your Nigerian doctors are treating only the symptoms of diabetes — high blood sugar — instead of addressing its true causes. But blood sugar spikes are only the surface of the problem. The real issue lies much deeper: in the way our body processes glucose, how sensitive our cells are to insulin, and how well our metabolism functions.
Imagine your body as a factory. If the machines are clogged and not working properly, raw materials (sugar) begin to pile up. The workers (insulin) are trying to do their job, but the system is overloaded. As a result, sugar stays in the blood instead of being delivered to the cells for energy. This leads not only to constant fatigue and thirst, but also to dangerous complications that affect the heart, eyes, nerves and kidneys.
Gymnema Sylvestre (also known as the 'sugar destroyer').
Modern Israeli medicine developed a long time ago a new approach — instead of fighting only the consequences, we target the root causes of impaired glucose metabolism. Our secret is a unique combination of plant extracts and bioactive substances. One of the most important is Gymnema Sylvestre — a plant that stimulates natural insulin production, reduces sugar absorption and helps normalize intestinal flora.
You no longer need to worry that diabetes will damage your internal organs (all systems in the body suffer from this), or that the worst could happen at any moment — like a heart attack, a stroke or blindness.
I was shocked when I saw the Nigerian medical statistics. Do you know what the deadliest disease is that costs the lives of millions of people in Nigeria every year? It’s not cancer, nor the flu, nor pneumonia, but diabetes! And people die from it at an early age — 80% of diabetics do not live past 60 years!
In Israel, diabetes is no longer considered a dangerous disease. High blood sugar is just a sign that your body’s glucose system is broken. Fix the root cause, and the spikes stop.
— What medications are used in Israel to treat diabetes?
In Israel, we now use a natural complex of plant extracts that has been specifically developed to treat diabetes in a natural way. One of the best examples is Insulux, a highly effective medication that contains Gymnema Sylvestre in a particularly bioavailable form. This significantly enhances the effectiveness of the medication.
Another important advantage of Insulux is that it contains many vitamins, macro- and micronutrients that are known to promote normal glucose metabolism, restore overall metabolism, and normalize endocrine function as well as the functioning of the cardiovascular and digestive systems. Insulux contains over 40 natural ingredients. I won't list them all, I'll just mention a few main.
🌿 Gymnema Sylvestre — often referred to as the 'sugar destroyer'. This herb actively empowers your body to regulate blood sugar with precision. It supercharges natural insulin production, dramatically enhances insulin sensitivity, and stabilizes glucose levels throughout the day. By reducing sugar absorption in the intestines and reshaping the gut microbiome, Gymnema Sylvestre not only curbs sugar cravings but also turbocharges your metabolism, helping you feel energized and balanced.
🌿 Turmeric — the metabolic powerhouse. Packed with potent curcumin, turmeric delivers unrivaled antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support. It optimizes lipid profiles – a measure of fats in the blood, including total cholesterol, LDL ('bad' cholesterol), HDL ('good' cholesterol), and triglycerides – promoting overall cardiovascular health. Turmeric also sharply lowers LDL cholesterol – the low-density lipoprotein that can accumulate in arteries and increase heart disease risk – while fine-tuning glucose regulation for consistently healthy blood sugar levels. Turmeric further fortifies liver function, accelerates metabolic efficiency, and provides comprehensive support for your body’s natural energy and detox pathways.
🌿 Black pepper — the bioavailability booster. With its active compound piperine, black pepper dramatically enhances nutrient absorption and supercharges carbohydrate metabolism. It strengthens pancreatic function, supports precise blood glucose control, and amplifies the metabolic benefits of Gymnema Sylvestre and turmeric. Its anti-inflammatory effects further protect your metabolism, creating a synergistic powerhouse blend for total metabolic harmony.
Insulux is suitable for all types of diabetes because it not only lowers blood sugar but also protects the body from complications. For type 2 diabetics, it improves insulin sensitivity and restores glucose metabolism. For type 1, it supports insulin therapy by reducing oxidative stress, protecting nerves, heart, and vision, and improving overall well-being. In other words Insulux provides comprehensive support that benefits every diabetic, regardless of type.
— Are such medications not sold in Nigerian pharmacies?
Exactly — that’s the shocking reality! This life-changing medication, or its analogues, are nowhere to be found in Nigerian pharmacies!
As far as I know, the manufacturer of Insulux tried to enter the Nigerian pharmaceutical market. However, the market entry was not permitted. Numerous bureaucratic hurdles and obstacles were created, making such an endeavor impossible. Nigeria and its bureaucracy — this is something that apparently cannot be changed.
The reasons are clear: if this medication was available in Nigerian pharmacies, the Nigerian 'pharmacy mafia' would suffer enormous financial losses. After all, pharmacology today is a business — and this applies to Israel as well. But in Israel, this business is conducted honestly. Unfortunately, this is not the case in Nigeria.
— What would you recommend to Nigerians suffering from diabetes?
Together with the Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria, we have created an opportunity to order Insulux directly from the manufacturer — without any pharmacy markups.
The manufacturer has provided a special batch of the medication at a discounted price for Nigerian citizens. To order Insulux, you just need to fill out an official manufacturer’s form below. Your request will be sent directly to the manufacturer. A medical consultant will contact you to answer your questions and collect your delivery address. Within 3–5 days, the package will arrive at your home.
We have been distributing Insulux in this way for the past 4 months. More than 7.000 Nigerians have taken advantage of this opportunity. Everyone who has received Insulux is invited to participate in a survey to assess the effectiveness of the medication. So far, more than 3.000 Nigerians have taken part in the survey.
The survey results are as follows:
● 94% of participants demonstrated improved glycemic control, with lower average glucose levels and enhanced daily management
● 89% achieved their target HbA1c (hemoglobin A1c, shows average blood sugar over 2–3 months), meeting physician-recommended long-term glycemic goals
● 86% reported decreased fatigue and increased daily functional capacity
● 83% experienced a significant reduction in polydipsia and xerostomia (excessive thirst and dry mouth)
● 81% showed measurable improvements in visual clarity
● 79% reported enhanced sleep quality and overall health-related quality of life
● 76% exhibited reduced peripheral neuropathy symptoms and improved foot and skin health
As you can see, Insulux has already helped many Nigerians overcome this deadly disease. I strongly recommend that all those interested take advantage of this opportunity.
— How long will Insulux be distributed in Nigeria?
Insulux will be distributed as long as the allocated batch is available. However, I would like to point out that there are very few units of Insulux left. Recently, demand has been rising sharply, likely because more and more people in Nigeria are learning about its high effectiveness compared to the methods currently used in your country.
As long as the medication is not yet sold out, I recommend that everyone suffering from diabetes place an order as soon as possible using the official manufacturer’s form below.

Ive lived with type 2 diabetes for 12 years and honestly it was destroying me.. Every morning i would wake up check my sugar and see numbers like 180 or even 200. it made me angry. frustrated and hopeless. I tried to eat less to walk more but the spikes just wouldn’t stop. My hba1c kept going higher every time I went to the doctor and hearing the word complications made me panic inside. i was constantly tired my legs felt heavy and I couldnt enjoy time with my kids. When I started using Insulux i didn’t expect much. But slowly things began to change. My morning sugar dropped to 120–130 and for the first time in yearsi felt like my body was on my side. My HbA1c came down under 7. I can finally wake up without fear of what the glucometer will show. It feels like i have my life back

in my opinion the main goal of many doctors is to get as much money frofm us as possible -they hardly care about anything else. I have been repeatedly disappointfred over the years. last fall, a doctor prescribed me something that really scared me. She neither took my other illnesses into account nor considered the possible effects on my body. It was pure indiff erence combined with prescribing medications for which doctors are apparently rewarded by companies. Maybe it's different elsewhere, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, this is what our healthcare system looks like. Thats why I'm even more thrilled about this medication finally 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

my story with type 2 diabetes has been full of fear and frustration. No matter what I did my glucose was often too high mornings 170/180 and even after meals it would spike unexpectedly. My doctor kept warning me about the risk of complications —kidneys, eyes heart and I felt powerless. I tried eating healthier and walking more, but the numbers wouldn’t budge) When I started using Insulux, I didn’t expect much. Slowly, I noticed my readings becoming more stable. My morning sugars dropped to 120–130, and my post-meal spikes weren’t as severe. For the first time in years, I feel like my body is finally on my side. I can check my glucose without anxiety and actually enjoy my life again!!!!

im 56 and i’ve been living with diabetes for more than 10 years. for me the hardest part was eating with my family. I love pasta bread and traditional food but every meal was a nightmare. My sugar would shoot up over 220 and then I’d feel dizzy heavy, and sometimes I couldn’t even stand up without holding onto something. i used to cry after dinner, because I felt like I had to choose between enjoying life and staying alive. When I found Insulux I was desperate. I didn’t believe it could help, but I had nothing to lose. After a few weeks, my numbers after meals were different not 220, but 150 or 160. I stopped feeling so weak and tired. Now i can sit at the table with my family and eat without fear i feel like a normal person again, not just ‘the sick one
